FitSM Authors & Contributors

FitSM was initially produced as part of a research project co-funded by the European Commission, FedSM, which concluded in 2015. It drew contributions from all of the partner organisations as well as members of the European research community. At the conclusion of the project, the management of FitSM was transferred to the ITEMO e.V. non-profit organisation, and all material was released under Creative Commons licences.

Today, FitSM is further developed and maintained by a team of the original authors and more recent contributors, continuing to operate through ITEMO.

Thomas Schaaf

FitSM Author

Thomas is an experienced auditor, consultant and trainer in IT service and security management. He was the director of the EU funded project consortium that invented and created FitSM.

Michael Brenner

FitSM Author

Michael is a leading expert in ITSM in the academic and public sector, working as an auditor, trainer & consultant. He has worked at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and was Head of ITSM at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre.

Owen Appleton

FitSM Author

Owen is expert in managing IT services for research and developing Trusted Research Environments. He ran a boutique consultancy and held positions at CERN and the University of Zurich. He currently works at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.

Sy Holsinger

FitSM Author

Sy has a wide range of experience in communication and management in IT. He formerly worked for TrustIT Service and EGI Foundation. He is Chief Technology Officer of the OPERAS Research Infrastructure.

Yannick Legre

FitSM Author

Yannick is the Secretary General of the OPERAS Research Infrastructure. He was Managing Director of EGI Foundation and President of HealthGrid as well as holding several roles with the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).

FitSM Contributors

FitSM Contributors have supported and enhanced FitSM in a range of ways. These include members of the original FedSM project, translators, submitters of additional content to the standard or assistance in organisation and promotion of the standard.
